before & after

ok so I bought this dress awhile ago (like 8 months). It was way to big in the waist and really long... but I could see the potential in it and it was only $3.99 so really I didn't have much to lose!

 BEFORE...
AFTER...
what I did... 1. took the top of the dress and the bottom of the dress apart.  2. I bought round cord elastic, and added it to the waist. 3. put the two pieces back together.... then I let it sit for a month or two. 4. cut 4 inches of the bottom and then made an inch hem line. 5. took the cut hem line and made a bow out of it, but just tying it in a knot.

I'm super excited about this... I think it turned out pretty good!
What do you guys think of it?

Hope you enjoy

Black & White Stripes!

Hello!! Today was a great day... had school and then I did some errands also went thrifting! Here are a few pictures of what I got today at the thrift store and also at ulta!!!

I have been wanting this curling iron for so long now, so when I got a 20% off coupon in the mail I knew I had to get it... Plus I heard great things about these lashes from my friend Ashleigh! I got some wonderful things at the thrift store... or maybe just to the sewing geek that I am, I picked up a dressmakers ham which is so helpful when you are making your creations! I also picked up this pointer press for those hard to reach ironing areas. I picked up some pant hangers as well because I want to make over my closet soon, it is driving me crazy... so you will see that soon I hope! :) And I saved the best for last this wonderful purse, I want to hug it, it is so wonderful :)
Tomorrow I will be going to see Tomas in Grand Junction, for a very long fun filled weekend!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Sew Shorts!

Hello to all!! Today I didn't have school sew I went through my dresser and started to update my shorts. I have bought a lot of shorts at thrift stores and they all need some type of tweaking to make them fit better, or even just to look better. Here are a few that I embellished with some stuff I just had in my sewing room. Hope this gives you ideas for your spring/summer wardrobe!

Have fun!
