High waisted bikini!!

OK... so I have been wanting a high waisted bikini for such a long time now, but every place that I look online are either sold out or they are just way to expensive... So I decided to take a look on pinterest to get some ideas, and I found this girls blog http://lapetitefembot.blogspot.com that gave me the idea to make my own! So here it is... I had the swimming suit and the elastic already, so this project didn't cost me a thing (just my time, but it was worth it). What you need to get started: swimming suit (one piece), elastic that is ok for swimwear, sewing machine, scissors.

Try suit on and fold over to see where you want it to sit on you, when you cut give yourself extra fabric to fold over for elastic.

cut top off and then measure elastic around where the swimming suit is going to sit on your body.
join elastic, do a x to make it stronger
sew elastic in, you can use a zig zag stitch, I used a twin needle it just made it much faster.

fold elastic with fabric so it is not exposed, sew around again I used a twin needle

Hope this inspires some summer projects!!

Heart Tights

Here is a quick and easy DIY... all you need are some tights, paint and your stamp. I purchased these little tights at the dollar store, they would be a great gift for a little girl, or you can even get adult tights and make them for a friend.

This is the piece that is placed inside the tights, I cut it in half and put it in between the tights so the paint wouldn't bleed.
cut your shape out I use craft foam board you can find this at any craft store and even wal-mart

I added a little heart on the back!
after I stamped it i painted over the shape to make it solid
The end!

glass etching!

ok so here is the DIY I promised the other day... glass etching! This was really easy and would be great for gift ideas... maybe for a house warming gift. 1. you need your glass, tape, glass etching cream (from hobby lobby), paint brush, exacto knife. 2. cut out your shape of course I did a mustache. 3. place tape on glass, and then add a thick layer of cream in the area to be etched. 4. wait 5-7 minutes. 5. run under water, make sure you get all the cream off... and you have a unique piece to add to your home.

Hope you enjoy..

Sew Shorts!

Hello to all!! Today I didn't have school sew I went through my dresser and started to update my shorts. I have bought a lot of shorts at thrift stores and they all need some type of tweaking to make them fit better, or even just to look better. Here are a few that I embellished with some stuff I just had in my sewing room. Hope this gives you ideas for your spring/summer wardrobe!

Have fun!
